Artist's Description

Pleasantville Speedway originally opened as the Powell Speedway in 1950. Located in Pleasantville, New Jersey, it featured an oval 1/2 mile dirt track. It was sold shortly after opening and its new owners paved the track. It became known as the Pleasantville Speedway. The track featured stock cars and late models and became a popular spot for both drivers and spectators alike. The track was closed and demolished in 1979. This image was captured at a junkyard in New Jersey.

About Kristia Adams

Kristia Adams

I am a photographer located in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. My first camera, which I received for my 11th birthday, was a little Kodak that took the 110 film cartridges. I used all my allowance money for film and processing. I have upgraded my camera a few times since those days and now I enjoy wandering my great state (and places beyond) photographing places that may not be here forever. I specialize in nature and landscape photography.
