Description
Pleasantville Speedway originally opened as the Powell Speedway in 1950. Located in Pleasantville, New Jersey, it featured an oval 1/2 mile dirt track. It was sold shortly after opening and its new owners paved the track. It became known as the Pleasantville Speedway. The track featured stock cars and late models and became a popular spot for both drivers and spectators alike. The track was closed and demolished in 1979. This image was captured at a junkyard in New Jersey.
