Echinacea purpurea or purple coneflower is a flower related to sunflowers. This flower is popular in herbal medicine and is believed to help stimulate the immune system. In one study, it was even shown to have some anti-depressant properties in rats. Native Americans used this flower as a pain-reliever both externally and internally.

I am a photographer located in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. My first camera, which I received for my 11th birthday, was a little Kodak that took the 110 film cartridges. I used all my allowance money for film and processing. I have upgraded my camera a few times since those days and now I enjoy wandering my great state (and places beyond) photographing places that may not be here forever.
