Artist's Description
Hallgrimskirkja is probably the most striking building in Reykjavik. This beautiful Lutheran church was commissioned to be built in 1938 and wasn't totally finished until 1986. The architect, Gu Samon, designed the church to resemble the basaltic lava formations found throughout Iceland. The church boasts a large pipe organ and an amazing observation tower that affords views of all of Reykjavik and the surrounding landscape. The chimes from Hallgrimskirkja can be heard on the hour. Just remember this if you visit the observation deck!

I am a photographer located in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. My first camera, which I received for my 11th birthday, was a little Kodak that took the 110 film cartridges. I used all my allowance money for film and processing. I have upgraded my camera a few times since those days and now I enjoy wandering my great state (and places beyond) photographing places that may not be here forever. I specialize in nature and landscape photography.
