Description
Dry Tortugas National Park is in the Gulf of Mexico, about 70 miles west of Key West, Florida. It comprises 7 islands, plus protected coral reefs. Garden Key is home to beaches and the 19th-century Fort Jefferson. It is the least visited National Park as it is only accessible by boat or seaplane. The Yankee Freedom is the ferry that brings about 150 passengers a day to visit the park. A 1956 Dehavilland Otter sits on the beach. There are a few flights to the island each day for visitors that would like to make a quicker trip to visit this park. It is a must-see for nature and history buffs alike!
