Description
The Inn At Jim Thorpe is steeped in history. The hotel that originally stood on this ground burned in 1848=9 and the Inn in its current state was built in its place. It was named the New American Hotel and hosted many dignataries including General Ulysses S. Grant, President William H. Taft, Buffalo Bill, Thomas Edison and John D. Rockefeller. The inn fell into disrepair during the great depression but was saved and restored to its orignal splendor in 1988 by its current owner John Drury. I have heard that more than a few spirits call this grand hotel home!
