Description

One of my new favorite trails is the 1808 trail between Batsto Village and the Buttonwood Campground. The trail follows an old logging road that connected Batsto Village to Crowleytown. The trail runs through Mordecai Swamp where you can see stands of towering Atlantic White Cedars. I can't wait to visit in June to see the mountain laurel in bloom.

In the Spring, the floor of the cedar swamp is a lush, vibrant green carpet of sphagnum moss.
