The red fox (Vulpes vulpes) is a common predator found throughout the United States. This fox was photographed at Island Beach State Park in Ocean County, NJ. Foxes are commonly sighted in this park where unfortunately, they have grown accustomed people feeding them from their cars. They wait in the road for passing cars and handouts. This is detrimental to their well-being. They may be hit by cars or succumb to poor health due to improper nutrition. Please keep these foxes wild. Do not feed wildlife and admire them from afar!
I am a photographer located in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I have had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. My first camera, which I received for my 11th birthday, was a little Kodak that took the 110 film cartridges. I used all my allowance money for film and processing. I have upgraded my camera a few times since those days and now I enjoy wandering my great state (and places beyond) photographing places that may not be here forever. I specialize in nature and landscape photography.
