Description
Manzanar is a somber place that was once an internment camp for Japanese Americans during World War II. This memorial was erected in the cemetery as a remembrance of the people that passed in this camp. It is disputed how many people were actually buried in the cemetery. 135 people passed at the camp. Some reports say that as many as 80 were laid to rest here. Many were reclaimed by family members after the closure of the camp for burial in family plots but most reports agree that there may still be 6 people still buried on site.
