An Eastern Towhee, Pipilo erythrophthalmus, perched on a branch along one of the hiking trails on Assateague Island in Virginia. This striking bird was once called the Rufous-sided Towhee due to the colorful sides but now has the name of Eastern Towhee. They are a common sight in the Eastern woodlands in the United States. Their song rings out through the woods...."Drink Your Teaeeee....."
