The edible Beach Plum, Prunus maritima, is a common coastal shrub on the east coast of the United States. It can be found as far north as Maine and as far south as Maryland. The fruit can be eaten right off the bush or used to make jam or wine. This image was taken in Island Beach State Park, Ocean County, NJ.
