Description
These workers' cottages are located at historic Batsto Village with in the Wharton State Park in Burlington County, NJ. These cottages lined the main street at Batsto and house workers that worked at the Batsto Village. An ironworks was located here which manufactured supplies for the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. The tract of land was latter bought by Joseph Wharton to be used in farming, timber and other business pursuits. The village is home to many restored buildings that are open for public viewing.
